Limited Cabin Lodging is available 2.5 miles from the Highlands War site. Beaver Creek Guest Ranch (our hosts for Highlands War) has rebuilt several cabins after the Wallow fire. Cabins are neat, clean, and come with a variety of private rooms and semi-private lodging. One new cabin is being finished to hold a 12 person bunkhouse.

Except for the bunkhouse cabin, Cabins – $32 per night per person with a $130 per night per group. Most cabins can sleep at least six people. These rates are specials for Highlands War. You supply your own bedding (pillows, sheets, and blankets). Cabins have running hot water, a bathroom with shower, and a wood stove for heating. Wood is supplied. The cabins do not have kitchen facilities or refrigerators. Since the ranch is off-the-grid (no electric lines), the generator is turned off at 10PM. Bring an electric lantern! No candles or oil lamps please! Contact: beavercreekra1@hotmail.com

Baron Henry’s comments:

I have stayed at the Beaver Creek Guest Ranch cabins. They are well cared for and very serviceable. The Ranch includes a list of amenities including pool and sauna. Cabins DO NOT have a kitchen. Power goes off at 10PM but the hot water uses an  on-demand hot water heater so you can have hot showers when you want. These cabins use a water heater that does not use electricity – the hot water may require you to turn off the hot water and then turn it back on to get hot water. They worked fine for me when I was there.

I also stayed at the Escudilla Mountain Cabins and found them comfortable. They are cabins, but have cable TV, automatic heat, and very reliable on-demand hot water. If you need power at night for medical equipment these cabins can work for you. Located about 22 miles from the Highlands site.
